GREAT NEWS - some real breakthroughs - we ARE on the verge of this Global Warming garbage being dismissed! I kid you not!

Dr. David Evans - Australian Climate Change scientist - who wrote the carbon accounting model (FullCAM) that measures Australia’s compliance with the Kyoto Protocol - has recently (18 July 2008) published a full retraction of his stance!

I take my hat off to this guy - it takes GUTS to admit error - but that is exactly what he has done - this article was published in a mainstream newspaper The Australian HERE!

OR - listen to a Radio 2GB interview with the very same man - HERE - what he says should horrify the Australian Taxpayer!

Now the increasing number of opponents to Climate Change doctrine is beginning to upset a few people; such that a few sites have been publishing challenges to David Evans claims - as if he’s the only voice opposing this psuedo science!

This is simply not so - here’s a link to a site that has over 31,000 scientists signing on to voice their collective concerns!

We are really close to breakthrough - the dyke is cracked and water is beginning to leak - and while the politicians (who will have serious egg on their faces) may be blocking all of the holes with their fingers - that whole wall of Climate Change hysteria is on the verge of a full and total collapse!

Watch closely over the next few months - I tip that we’ll see history in the making as the IPCC and a HUGE number of scientists are forced to admit they’ve got it wrong and wasted BILLIONS of dollars!

Yep - you read that correctly, the current Labor governments attempt to tax the daylights out of Australian families and businesses was defeated in the Senate last week! At last - when it looked as though the oh-so-politically-correct-and-spineless Rudd and Wong were going to tax us on a scientific farce; opposition to the ETS saw it fail!

Let’s hope that the failure stands firm - and that there is not some resubmission of a diluted form by the Liberals that gets adopted!

I haven’t posted a comment lately, partly because I’ve been pretty busy doing lots of other things - but also because I had become disillusioned with the “resistance” movement!

It has seemed as though the sheep that are following along with this absurd notion of significant man made warming - were going to win - in spite of the great deal of science and scientists talking to the contrary?

Here in Australia our trendy, people pleasing Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and his Minister Penny Wong seem intent on bankrupting the nation both through very generous government cash handouts AND a committment to set Australia down a path of Carbon Trading - at a time when the entire world is reeling from the global financial crisis? I mean seriously? We have a world that is struggling to employ and therefore feed and clothe its workers - yet these guys (and lots of others) are focussed on CO2?

Anyway - it looks as though the data coming back from some monitoring of the planet may be set to challenge the IPCC and all of the CO2 freaks? I was really excited to read another of Andrew Bolts Anti Global Warming articles in the Herald Sun in Melbourne this week.

Let’s hope that someone that reads it has some clout and that the government of Australia at least begins to rethink its committment to this fantasy?

I have been saying for some time that the supposed consensus on Man Made Climate Change is only hype and spin; generated by those who want you to believe that we have damaged the Earth by burning fuel! Heck, they even say now that methane from animal flatus (farts) is changing the weather - I mean, come on - what’s more natural than animals eating grass and the natural bacteria in their gut converting some of that into gas!

Another climate change opposing voice-in-the-wilderness - geologist Andrew Bolt - recently published an article in another of Australia’s leading newspapers The Herald Sun.

The article entitled “Evidence doesn’t bare out alarmist claims of global warming” generated HUGE amounts of interest and heated discussion on that sites Blog.

This article and the recent retraction of Pro-Climate Change stance in The Australian by David Evans the scientist who wrote the carbon accounting model (FullCAM) that measures Australia’s compliance with the Kyoto Protocol - appear set to destabilise the already rocking foundations of the Climate Change camp in Australia - and potentially the World!

I’ll make a political climate prediction of my own here - things are about to get VERY HEATED in Canberra, as well as in other parts of the world - all the while the only methane generation risk - will be that generated by politicians and scientists - crapping themselves - when they realise that they’ve wasted BILLIONS of dollars chasing fantasy and fad!

If it wasn’t so serious - it would be laughable - that money could have been spent building dams - in a country that is experiencing DROUGHT - NOT CLIMATE CHANGE - not to mention the schools and hospitals and countless other areas that would have benefited from such a massive injection of funding - now lost!

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd - who attacked the previous Liberal governments wait-and-see stance and then used Climate Change as a tool to manipulate the many blind and ignorant Australians into voting for him - should stand down! This guy is merely a crowd pleaser; one who criticises others that have had the guts to stand firm on issues that may not always keep the customer satisfied; in this politiclly over-correct world gone mad!

I simply love what David Evans says in his retraction:

What is going to happen over the next decade as global temperatures continue not to rise? The Labor Government is about to deliberately wreck the economy in order to reduce carbon emissions. If the reasons later turn out to be bogus, the electorate is not going to re-elect a Labor government for a long time. When it comes to light that the carbon scare was known to be bogus in 2008, the ALP is going to be regarded as criminally negligent or ideologically stupid for not having seen through it.

And Al Gore - well all I can say is that Al Gore and all of his sheep will have really sleepless nights - really soon! At least he’ll have plenty of sheep to count - to assist with his sleeplessness?

OK - now if you’re reading this, you’ve no doubt gathered I’m a Global Warming Skeptic? Well - it would be no surprise I was pleased to read the results of a UK poll, that shows that most people in that country that responded, were skeptical about the Global Warming story!

The poll, by Ipsos MORI, found widespread contradictions, with some people saying politicians were not doing enough to tackle the problem, even though they were cynical about government attempts to impose regulations or raise taxes. In a sign of the enormous task ahead for those pushing for drastic cuts to carbon emissions, many people said they did not want to restrict their lifestyles and only a small minority believe they need to make ’significant and radical’ changes such as driving and flying less.

It seems:

‘People are broadly concerned, but not entirely convinced,’ said Downing. ‘Despite many attempts to broaden the environment movement, it doesn’t seem to have become fully embedded as a mainstream concern,’ he said.

I’ll make a prediction of my own here? Once people start to grasp that it’s disputed - by thousands of concerned scientists; THEN how plans to tackle the alleged problem, involve MASSIVE TAXING - on top of rapidly escalating food and fuel prices - I predict we’ll see them drop it like a hot potato!

But here in Australia, we’ll be different -people pleasing Kevin Rudd and his party of leftist fools; spent so much of their 2007 election campaign planning to tackle the fictitious problem - I expect there’ll be dogged persistence - or they risk looking foolish, renouncing something that they made such an issue over!

I came across a review of The Deniers: The World Renowned Scientists Who Stood Up Against Global Warming Hysteria, Political Persecution, and Fraud at the Heartland Institute today. Now I have not read this book yet personally - but the reviews that I have seen at Heartland and on the US National Center for Policy Analysis look extremely interesting!

Heartland’s - H. Sterling Burnett said:

Solomon does not attempt to settle the science, show that humans are or are not responsible for the present warming trend, or decide what we can expect the future harms or benefits of continued warming (or cooling) might be. Instead, he simply shows in a manner accessible to a lay audience that uncertainties concerning each important facet of the “consensus” view on warming abound, and that the dissenting views are at least as plausible–and often more compelling–than the alarmist point of view.

And:

Solomon also discusses the harsh treatment many scientists have endured simply because they follow the scientific method, and their own consciences, which led them to conclude global warming is not a crisis. In Chapter Nine, “In the Land of the Midnight Sun,” Solomon details the struggles, trials, and tribulations of scientists who have had the temerity to speculate solar activity might have something to do with the present warming trend.

He concludes by saying:

Like no other book I know, it provides a concise but thorough overview of the myriad weaknesses of the consensus view, supported by the stellar qualifications of those scientists labeled derisively as “deniers.”

If a person could read only one book this year on climate change, this is the one I’d pick.

Professor Bob Carter continues with his discussion of CO2 and it effect on the temperature of the environment. One interesting point in direct conflict with what is promoted by the IPCC, is that temperature precedes raised CO2 readings :
